Regular Visitors

Regular vistors come in to periodically work with the children.  They share their talents and teach the children about several different topics

Special Guests Include:
  • BEST Oral Health Program - Visitors include hygienists and dentists that come in during circle time to talk about the experience of going for a dental visit.  They bring literature, puppets and other materials to demonstrate what to expect.  This program helps relieve the anxieties that many children have with visiting the dentist.  Families can also sign their children up for free dental services including a dental exam that provides inspections for cavities, filling of any cavities and applying fluoride.  The visit occurs at The Arbors Kids facility.  This program is primarily for children who do not have a dentist and have Mass Health Insurance.  For more information about the program, please visit their website here.
  •   Joe Kuda Kara - Local firefighter and child passenger safety technician - Firefighter Joe comes in to teach the children about safety.  He uses demonstrations and videos to teach the children about topics including: "Car Seat Safety", "Stop, Drop & Roll", "Crawl Low Under Smoke" and "Safe to Play Or Keep Away."
  • Lisa Lanno - Creative writer and local children's book author - Lisa plans activities that have the children thinking and creating stories.  She also has a dramatic play unit that encourages the children to express themselves through music, movement and dress up.  Her book, "The Secret Cave" can be found at her website, here.
  • Cindy Ruppel - Founder of the ongoing garden project "Get Growing, Going Green!" - Cindy has been a regular visitor in the preschool and toddler classrooms.  Every spring, she develops lesson plans and activities that teach the children the importance of taking care of the Earth, as well as how to start and keep a healthy garden.
