arbors arts

The Arbors Arts Summer Camp experience is designed to enrich their lives of campers grades K-6 through creative expression. This project-based approach to art-making includes basic introductions to painting, drawing, sculpture, music and digital media. It will expand their creative abilities and their social and emotional skills. For one hour a day, campers will be given an independent or group-based project to complete for the weekly Camp-wide Showcase.

Week 1: Gather ‘Round The Campfire – Campers get ready! This week, we learn to incorporate the leaves, grass and earth into our creations. Campers will create pieces that represent the outdoors and nature.

Week 2: Space Jam –  It’s time for lift off! Blast into space with us and learn about planets and stars to re-create the universe in own vision. Campers will create pieces like rocket ships that represent space and the universe.

Week 3: Tailgate Time – We’ve got eats!  This week, we are diving into different cultures and foods to get ready for our big Tailgate event. Campers will experiment with different culinary arts and create food-based art projects.

Week 4: It’s A Zoo – The animals are loose! This week, we are discussing animals and the environments they live in. Campers will create pieces that deal with different animals, landscapes and biomes.

Week 5: Arbors’ Got Talent – It’s showtime! This week, we are finalizing personal and weekly projects to showcase to our visiting families. Campers will finalize pieces to present for the art show this week.

Week 6: Color War: Battle at the Beach – We’ve got spirit, yes we do! This week, we are competing to create the best art pieces for our respective color teams to show camp spirit.

Week 7: Disney World – It’s a small world after all! This week, we are discussing animation styles and the creative works of Disney. Campers will create their own animations and Disney-related pieces.

Week 8: Carnival! – Gather ‘round, folks! This week, we are discussing the history of Carnivals, Video games, and other forms of entertainment. Campers will create their own signs, games or prizes for the week’s event.

Week 9: Water Festival – Drip, drip, drip! This week, we are playing with water and creating tons of fun projects that deal with the ocean, aquamarine life and the water cycle.
